“A Vision of Today’s Students”

March 3, 2010

This is an excellent and discussion-stimulating video about today’s students that I thought I had posted earlier. I think it is a good companion video to the one below. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think and go to the site for other comments from around the world.

I really liked this video. From my own experiences, it is fairly accurate. I’m happy that none of my own classes are full of a hunderd students and that probably half my tachaers know my name and I’m sure three of them would recognise me outside of school. And that I do not have to attend class in the huge amptheatre shown in the beginning. Otherwise, much of it rings true to me. Most of my reserch and many of my classes are online and I’m thankful I got a laptop. I spend a lot more time composing messages like this than I probably will on papers, and being an older student, I was able to pick courses that should be relevant to my carreer choice, but, yeah, some of it I doubt I will use outside of class.

The textbook thing is a pain in the neck. I have only one class where the teacher has not even used the assigned book in class yet, and we are halfway through the whole semester. I know I won’t get much of a refund. The time management segment is true too. If you put up part two, I would watch it.
